Welcome to WIA Code, operated by SmileStory Co., Ltd. By accessing or using WIA Code (https://wiacode.com), you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Service Description

WIA Code is a next-generation 2D code technology that provides:

1-A. Accounts

You do not need an account to generate or scan codes. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping access to it secure and for everything done through it. You may stop using your account at any time; contact us and we will remove it and the direct links attached to it.

1-B. Direct Links

A direct link points a short wiacode.com URL at a destination you choose. You are solely responsible for that destination and for keeping it lawful and accurate. We may disable a direct link without prior notice if it points to malware, phishing, or content that breaks section 3, or if we are required to by law. A direct link is a convenience, not a permanent address — we do not guarantee that any particular short token stays available indefinitely.

1-C. Donations

Donations are voluntary and buy nothing: they unlock no feature, tier or support obligation, and the service is identical whether or not you donate. Payment is handled by Stripe under Stripe’s own terms. Because a donation is a gift rather than a purchase, it is not generally refundable — but if you donated by mistake, write to us and we will do our best to put it right.

WIA Code is free to use for all purposes — personal, educational, and commercial. There are no subscription fees, no hidden charges, and no usage limits for basic code generation and scanning.

The WIA Code technology, including the encoding format, decoder algorithms, and visual design system, is the intellectual property of SmileStory Co., Ltd. The WIA Code format specification is published openly to encourage adoption.

5. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of all data you encode into WIA Codes. SmileStory Co., Ltd. does not access, store, or claim any rights to the content of your WIA Codes. All encoding and decoding happens locally on your device.

WIA Code is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we strive for accuracy and reliability, we do not guarantee that:

SmileStory Co., Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of WIA Code. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid for the service (which is zero for free users).

8. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Western District Court.

9-A. Language of These Terms

These Terms are provided in Korean (/ko/terms.html) and in English. If there is any difference in interpretation between the two, the Korean version prevails. Any translation into another language is provided for convenience only and has no binding effect.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of WIA Code after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
